Using an Ozone Generator to Kill Roaches

If you’re looking for things to help remove cockroaches from your home, there are plenty of ways to do it. While one way is to hire a pest control service, Damage Control 911 lets us know that we can take matters into our own hands. It won’t replace a call to a bug service, but you can use an ozone generator to kill these roaches if there’s not an infestation.

Since ozone affects all organic things, bugs don’t stand a chance. However, that does mean that it can affect us, too. Ozone can cause harm to our respiratory systems if we breathe in concentrated ozone gasses. Ozone is composed of charged oxygen molecules, so don’t go near it.

Whenever the ozone is pumped through the room, it will try to attach to organic things to dump the charged atom from the molecules in the gas. This means that it will infiltrate cells of living things. This goes for bugs, but also for people, pets, and plants.

They can all be negatively affected by this gas, so never run an ozone generator in an occupied space. It will kill the bugs over a week’s time, but you have to do it for a few hours every day. That way, it will kill the bugs and the eggs they have laid.
